Monsoon

Monsoon, the restaurant not the weather – is a wonderful dining experience in Bellevue! It is owned by the same group that owns Ba Bar and is really just the upscale cousin. If you have been to Ba Bar, then you know that the food is epic! Ba Bar is more the street food version, whereas Monsoon is the sit down, have a cocktail with your meal, and relax and chat for a bit! I have been able to eat at Monsoon for both lunch and dinner and each has a few different items on their menu, so make sure to go during both times so you can try everything.

On their lunch menu you will find their wonderful vermicelli noodles bowls, their famous pho, a handful of curry dishes and the tasty catfish claypot! My personal favorites include their vermicelli bowls ($17.50 – $18.50) and the drunken chicken ($17.50). The noodle bowls are so light and still filling and I love the combination of warm, tender meat with cold pickled carrots that add a crunch and tang! I also highly recommend grabbing a few appetizers for the table. My selections include the Imperial Rolls ($13.50), Grilled Pork Belly ($13) and Bo La Lat ($14.50). On their dinner menu, don’t miss the Prawn Curry ($28), Luc Lac Beef Tenderloin ($35), and Wokked Lamb ($29). And make sure you save room for their creamy and rich Coconut Creme Caramel ($8.50). It is the perfect sweet bit to end the meal because it has a wonderful coconut flavor but isn’t overly sweet.
