Sweet Notes is tucked away in a little shopping center in Kent, WA right next to the Trader Joe’s. I go to TJs every week, even multiple times a week, but have never been to this cafe. Over the weekend, I found myself wanting to grab a bite to eat but didn’t want to go all the way to Seattle and I also needed to go grocery shopping as well so this spot popped on my radar! Walking in, the cafe is super cute and a great spot for some instagram worthy photos! Their menu features waffles, crepes, toasts, smoothie bowls and more so they’ve got you covered if you’re in the mood for sweet or savory!
We grabbed a cappuccino and sweet milk latte (latte with sweetened condensed milk) to start our morning off right! The cappuccino was light and had the perfect foam to milk ratio. I absolutely loved the latte – the sweetened condensed milk at a nice sweetness with a slight caramel flavor. There were so many delicious dishes to choose from it was hard to make a decision between sweet and savory, so we grabbed a crepe for the table as well as two savory toasts. One of their most popular items is the Benny Toast – so we had to order that. We also tried the Salmon Benny Toast and the Berry Cheesy Crepe. The Benny Avocado Toast is a thick slice of toast, topped with mashed avocado, fresh tomatoes, crispy bacon, a poached egg and finished with hollandaise sauce. The Salmon Benny is similar with a thick slice of toast, cream cheese, sliced avocado, cucumbers and tomatoes, fresh salmon, 2 poached eggs and drizzled with hollandaise sauce. Lastly, the Berry Chessy Crepe is a light, soft crepe filled with sweet cream cheese, mixed berry sauce, fresh berries and is drizzled with their sweet house sauce. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious! The toasts are huge and could totally be shared between 2 people if you wanted to share a savory and sweet dish. I do wish the toast had been slightly toastier – the slices were really thick and with so many toppings it was a bit on the soggier/softer side. It was also pretty difficult to cut through and eating by hand was not an option with how messy it is! So I think toasting it for a few more minutes would help with both of those points, or providing sharper knifes. The Berry Crepe was absolutely fantastic though. It was sweet and a bit tart from the fresh berries. Definitely 10/10 and would order over and over. I want to try their other crepes, but this one was just so incredible I don’t know if I could order another one. The flavors complemented each other so well..just damn. You’ve got to try it for yourself because I can’t even do it justice trying to describe it. Pure deliciousness on a plate.
