I had my first taste of Salt & Straw years ago in Portland, OR. It was so good I craved that sweet, creamy goodness often. Now Portland is not that far away from Seattle, but it is a bit too far for a quick ice cream run so I knew that this place would be a memory…UNTIL a location opened up right in Seattle! There are now 3 locations in WA, which means I can get this delicious ice cream whenever I want. If you don’t live in a state that has a location – don’t worry, they can ship it to you so you don’t have to miss out! This is some of the creamiest, tastiest ice cream I have ever had. I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like.
One of my favorite things about this shop is they have seasonal flavors they rotate fairly often to keep it interesting! Two of my favorite seasonal themes are “Cereal-ly delicious” and “Berries, Berries, Berries.” The cereal flavors brought me back to Saturday mornings watching cartoons with my dad in my pajamas in the early morning and eating all the sugary cereal my mom would not always allow. Their flavors included Cold Brew Cocoa Puffs, Pots of Gold & Rainbows, and Cornflake Cookies with Marionberry Jam to name a few! Their Berries flavors are perfect for summertime when berry season is in full force! The flavors include Birthday Cake and Blackberries, Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie, and Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero.
