There are at least two locations of Kaplan, one near Kreuzberg and the other near P.Berg. We stopped in the P.Berg location, which is basically across the street from a shopping center, so it is perfect for a quick bite while you’re out shopping.
Like I have mentioned before, there are so many Doner locations across Berlin since Berlin is where this delicious dish was created. Now, while Doner is very similar, each spot has their own take and flavors, so not every place tastes the same.
Kaplan Doner is definitely in the middle tier for me. It was good and had the correct bread, meat, and toppings, but it was a bit on the dry side. I could have used some extra sauce on the side. The bread was also a bit thin and not as fluffy as some of the ones I had.
What I did really enjoy was the ratio of meat to veggies on this one, the balance was right. I just wish it had a little more sauce to bring it all together. I will say, this one was also very stuffed full of meat and veggies, so the value was great.
If you’re in the area and need a quick, filling doner, Kaplan does the job.
