Mexican Radio

Mexican Radio was a happy surprise I walked in to. I was visiting Neon coffee that is a few doors down and it was mid-afternoon when I realized I hadn’t eaten lunch yet. I took a quick glance at their menu and I mean it was tacos so of course I said let’s go! Their restaurant is so cute and they have a covered outdoor patio that is painted in rainbow colors! It is super fun to sit in and admire. I grabbed some tacos and sat for a while enjoying them. They have beef, chicken, pork, seafood and vegetable tacos to choose from. They also come in classic and unique flavors so there is a ton of variety. Some of their classic tacos include carne asada, carnitas, pollo verde, and crispy fish. Their fun, unique flavors include smoked brisket, fried chicken, grilled jerk pork, crispy buffalo cauliflower, and fried shrimp po-boy. All of their tacos come in singles and range from $3.75-$5.00. Pro-tip, they have a special birria taco dish and you can actually get a single one! If you aren’t familiar with birria tacos, they are the latest foodie phenomenon (although they are not new to the food scene) and is shredded meat with melty, melty cheese smashed between a corn tortilla and grilled so it is a bit crispy on the outside. It is also served with a sauce for dunking that I could probably drink because it is incredible. They also have a selection of other dishes if tacos aren’t your jam or you just want something different. Make sure to grab the dip trio, which comes with their green chile queso, guacamole and salsa roja. The perfect way to start a meal and it comes with fresh chips! It is also perfect for sharing with the table so don’t skip it. The only thing missing now is a cold beverage. They’ve got you covered on that too. Between cocktails, frozen drinks, and large selection of cold beer – grab one for the long, hard week you have had. This place is one I will be adding to my list of must go tos everytime I come home for a visit. The tacos were fresh and delicious and I could eat the hell out of those birria tacos any day and any time of the week.
