Pickled Red Onions

Pickled onions add the perfect crunch and acidity to any dish! They also add a beautiful, vibrant color that makes any dish extra good looking! These are super simple to make and you most likely have all the ingredients in your pantry already! I like to keep a jar in the fridge to add to my dishes to give them that extra tang! These are great to add to salads, on tacos, burritos, sandwiches, pizza – really you name it. Anything you would put onions on just substitute these for an upgrade. These will keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks – just make sure you seal the lid tightly!

  • 1 Large Red Onion
  • 1 Cup Boiling Water
  • 1/2 Cup White Distilled Vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp Sugar
  • Makes: 1 Jar

To Make:

  1. In a 32oz mason jar, add the boiling water, vinegar and sugar. Secure tightly with a lid and shake until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Thinly slice the red onion and add to the jar.
  3. Seal tightly and place in the fridge. Allow them to marinate for at least 8 hours, but for best results leave overnight!
