GUYS! This coffeeshop is literally the best. I find myself there way more than I would like to admit. At this point, the staff know me by name. To give you an idea of how good it is, I willingly drive 20-30 minutes just to get coffee from this shop. It is probably good that its not closer, or they would take all of my money haha. So why do I love this shop so much? Well a few reasons. There coffee of course but also their staff and atmosphere. They have created this incredible space in their community that is welcoming, light, and comfortable. It truly feels like home each time I step in there. The staff is incredibly friendly, patient, and kind. Although we still wear masks, I am sure they have large smiles on their face as they all reflect joy and happiness when you interact with them. This shop is always packed too, but no matter how many orders they have or customers in line, the staff always gives you their full attention and answer all the questions you may have!
So now to the coffee part. This shop is the first Vietnamese Coffee shop in Seattle, which makes it very unique! Vietnamese coffee is typically brewed using a phin – which is a small metal cup – and it is brewed slowly resulting in a very powerful coffee with a deep, rich flavor. If you are a coffee lover, you definitely need to check this place out. Their drinks are unique but full of flavor and are incredible. I have had the opportunity to try the majority of their menu, although there are a few drinks I just can’t seem to get enough of! My favorites are the Coffeeholic Dream and Bac Siu, but the White Hazel, Purple Haze, Coconut Coffee, and Vietnamese Latte are close contenders (I wasn’t kidding when I said I have tried almost their entire menu!). The Coffeeholic Dream is made with the traditional phin and topped with a thick layer of salted cream cheese. I recommend adding the Ube drizzle on top for an extra boost of deliciousness. The salted cream cheese layer might sound odd at first but it is addicting – the acidic coffee with the salty and sweet foam and ube is an amazing balance of richness and saltiness with a punch of caffeine. Trust me – you won’t regret it! The Bac Siu is perfect for when you’re looking for something with a little less caffeine! It still packs a punch though and is more subtle than the Coffeeholic Dream.
They also recently started partnering with two local bakeries to offer delicious baked goods. This is the perfect stop on your way to work in the morning and for a weekend pick me up – grab a pastry and a drink and you’re on your way to a better day already! Just walking in to their shop I instantly feel in a better mood. They are located in Columbia City which is just a short trip from downtown Seattle. Make sure to stop by if you’re in the area, but you should definitely put this place on your list to make a special trip for. It is 100% worth it and like me, you will be hooked upon first sip!
