Taste ToGo

My Banh Mi adventure continues with Taste To Go. Taste To Go is a little shop located in an Asian Market near our house. I frequent the market, so I knew I had to stop for a Banh Mi! Banh Mi are just so delicious that its hard to not eat them every single day. They are filled with juicy meat, fresh and crunchy vegetables, pickled vegetables that add some tanginess, and obviously the best part – the bread! Just kidding, the filling is definitely the best, but you have to have a solid baguette that is crusty on the outside and soft in the middle.

We ordered the Combo Banh Mi ($7.50), Grilled Pork Belly Banh Mi ($7.50), and the Hum Bao ($3.75). All of the sandwiches come filled with mayo, pate, onions, pickled daikon and carrots, jalapeños, cilantro, and sauce. They were incredible – stuffed full of enough meat to be filling, but not too much that you can’t taste the vegetables and other fillings. We also ordered the Hum Bao which is a big steamed bun filled with ground pork, jicama, black fungus mushroom, and an egg. I have had several bao in my life, but none like this. But I have so say, I was intrigued with the fillings and they worked great together and tasted delicious. I will definitely be ordering it again!
