Ba Bar

Oh Ba Bar how I love you so. They are serving up some delicious Vietnamese Food, including some killer pho that will warm you all the way through. They have 3 locals, so no matter where you are in the city you aren’t far from a bowl of comfort! Although, their South Lake Union location is temporarily closed – probably because Amazon is under Work From Home due to Covid and their location is located right in the middle of Amazon’s campus. Anyways, we went to the Capital Hill location and were so in love from the moment we walked in. It open and light, but also warm and comforting – it almost feels like home when you walk in! They offer Happy Hour daily from 3-6pm for some tasty drinks and eats at a reduced price! There were so many delicious options it was difficult to decide what we wanted. We went during Lunar New Year as well, so they were offering a Wagyu Pho on special!

We ordered the special because how can you pass up Wagyu Pho( $19)?! We also ordered Crispy Imperial Rolls ($12) and the Combo Vermicelli Noodle Bowl ($17). The Imperial Rolls comes filled with pork, prawns, mushrooms, and mint. They are served with lettuce, pickled daikon and carrots, noodles and fish sauce. You are supposed to take the roll, place it in the lettuce and add some of the pickled veggies and noodles and top with the fish sauce – then roll it all up and eat it! It was delicious – the rolls by themselves were incredible, but adding all the other elements really kicked them up a notch! They are crispy, light and refreshing! Absolutely loved them and recommend starting your meal off with them. The Combo Bowl comes with chicken, shrimp, beef&pork sausage, vermicelli noodles, lettuce, bean sprouts, cucumbers, mint, pickles, roasted peanuts, crispy shallots and fish sauce. Sound like a lot going on there – but you get to try so many flavors! It was also delicious – this is what my husband ordered though and he would only share a few bites because he was so in love! Lastly, the Wagyu Pho – this was a special so unfortunately it is not on their regular menu, but there are a ton of other pho options that would be just as delicious! Their pho broth is slow cooked for hours to achieve that oh so good taste that leaves you doing a little happy dance! Their pho was incredible – absolutely hands down some of the best I have ever had!

I am already eyeing several other items on their menu I am looking forward to trying! Check out their happy hour menu and regular menu for all their offerings. Swing by or order some takeout from them when you’re looking for something warm and comforting that will feed your soul and have you feeling happy!
