Butler

A not so hidden gem in New York City is definitely Butler – the cutest coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch spot around! The inside is so cozy, and crowded, and a great way to start the morning. If you’re in a hurry, you can also order online and pick up at their outside window – this looked super convenient for locals that just need a quick coffee on the way to work. My husband and I popped in to the location right by the Brooklyn Bridge to grab some fuel and warmth before exploring the area for the day. We just went for pastries, but their breakfast dishes looked absolutely incredible. The hardest thing besides choosing what to grab was finding a seat… but by the time we ordered, a few seats opened up. We also went on Saturday morning so it was extra busy.

Butler offers tons of freshly baked pastries – both savory and sweet – to enjoy in the morning with a hot coffee or a pure matcha. We grabbed their cruffins (croissant + muffin combo) and opted for a sweet (French Toast) and a savory (Everything Bagel). And of course we had to get some caffeine – cappuccino for the hubs and an iced matcha for me! The cruffins were super good – light and buttery and so fluffy on the inside. The only downside was the Everything Bagel didn’t have very much filling inside and I wish there was more. The French Toast Cruffin had a wonderful flavor and not overly sweet, but it was a bit on the dry side – I think if it came with some butter or syrup (or had it stuffed inside) it would have made it so much better. We did get our pastries warmed up since we were eating them in and that definitely made them shine!

Definitely a cute spot to grab a coffee and pastry and take a walk down to see the Brooklyn Bridge and walk the park and along the water.
