Joe’s Pizza

When you think of New York City it is hard not to think of pizza. And when you think of pizza, this place might come to mind – Joe’s Pizza established in 1975 by Joe (who by the way is straight from Naples). Their original establishment is located on Carmine St (which is also very close to the iconic Friend’s building if you’re a fan). Oh and Joe still owns and operates it! But back to the pizza. This is THE place to get some truly classic pizza by the slice. No frills, no fancy toppings, just good ass pizza with a thin crust, fresh sauce, and simple toppings. It is also probably the cheapest slice you can get around for the high quality they maintain. I grabbed a slice of Fresh Mozzarella ($5.00) and if you are eating it right away, they will even throw it in the oven to get it nice and hot. The tomato sauce was vibrant and fresh and that fresh mozzarella really just makes it so much better – it’s so creamy and cheesy! Just writing this I am drooling and looking at flights back to NYC for another slice. It was THAT damn good. While this spot may be out of the way, or you think it will just be a tourist trap, I promise you grabbing a slice from here will not disappoint.
