It is fall and we all know that means cooler weather and warmer, heartier dishes. We also all know that it means Pumpkin Season is back! PSLs are already back so I figured a pumpkin bread was in order! I will admit, Starbucks has a delicious pumpkin bread – it is one of my favorites, but I knew I had to re-create this at home with a bit more fun. This pumpkin bread has all the classic flavors you love but is topped with a delicious brown sugar crumble that adds a bit of a crunch to counteract the soft, moist interior. This is the perfect addition to your morning routine with a cup of coffee or tea. If you’re ready for fall like me, whip this up and savor it all week long – maybe make a double batch though because you won’t want to share! One thing to note, although this recipe says 1 loaf – it is a large loaf, you could divide the batter in to two loaf pans and make slightly smaller ones! Just make sure to adjust the cooking time to accommodate for the smaller loaves as they will not need as much time.
Pumpkin Bread
- 15 oz Can Pumpkin Puree
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Oil
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1 3/4 Cup Flour
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
- 1 Tsp Salt
Crumble:
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Flour
- 3 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Tsp Cinnamon
- Makes: 1 Loaf
- Prep TIme: 10 Minutes
- Cook Time: 45-55 Minutes
- Total TIme: 55-65 Minutes

To Make:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, add the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice, mix well and set aside.
- Using an electric mixer, add the pumpkin, brown sugar and sugar in the mixer and mix on low until well combined.
- Add in the oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla and continue mixing until combined.
- Turn the mixer on low, and slowly add in the flour mixture you made earlier – just a little at a time – and mix until well combined. Scrape down the sides periodically to ensure the batter is well mixed.
- Pour the batter in to the greased loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, add the butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 3 tbsp sugar, and 2 tsp cinnamon and mix with your hands until it forms a sand-like texture. Sprinkle over the top of the pumpkin bread batter.
- Place the loaf in the oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. *Check at the 45 minute mark and put back in the oven in increments of 5 minutes until baked through.
- Remove from the oven and allow to completely cool before removing from the pan – then slice and serve!
