Yummy Bao

One of my favorite parts of traveling is exploring local food courts and markets, and Crystal Mall in Vancouver was such a fun discovery! Our hotel was right next to the mall, so it was amazing to be able to just walk over and have our pick from over a dozen different food stalls serving up all kinds of incredible Asian food.

One thing about me is that I absolutely love Asian food—I know that’s a huge category, but some of my favorites are Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Korean. So, wandering through this food court was basically my version of heaven.

I was immediately drawn to a spot called Yummy Bao and decided to grab an order of their Vegetarian Buns. They came out so fresh and warm, and I loved that they had a little side station with different sauces and, most importantly, homemade chili oil to enjoy with your buns!

The buns themselves were so perfectly fluffy and absolutely packed with a delicious filling. But I have to talk about that chili oil. It was SO good. It had a serious kick to it, but it was spicy in that perfect, numbing way that leaves your tongue tingling with so much flavor. It was the perfect addition to the savory buns.

If you find yourself near Crystal Mall, definitely wander through the food court. There are so many gems to discover.
