If you’re looking for a wonderful spot for brunch, coffee, and pastries in Vancouver, you have to check out Nemesis Coffee! With multiple locations across the city, it’s a local favorite for a reason. We stopped into their Pavilion location, and from the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The space itself is bright and modern, and despite being busy with a lively buzz, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The first thing that will capture your attention, though, is the absolutely tantalizing pastry case. It’s filled to the brim with so many delicious and beautiful treats that your eyes will be locked in. We originally just came for a breakfast sandwich, but there was no way we could resist!
We decided to share the Banana Danish, and it was a masterpiece. The pastry was incredibly flakey and buttery, holding a delicious banana pastry cream that was so smooth and silky. It was topped with a light whipped cream and a citrus gel that added a perfect little tang to cut through the richness.
For our main dishes, we had to order the Mortadella Sandwich, which came highly recommended. It all starts with one of their famous supreme croissants, which is then layered with thinly sliced mortadella, a tangy mustard aioli, melty swiss cheese, and a perfectly runny fried egg. It was buttery, soft, and just so good. Every single bite was perfection. We also tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The chicken had a super crispy and crunchy exterior, while the meat inside remained tender and juicy. It was served with a zesty dill sauce that was a wonderful, fresh balance to the richness of the chicken.
Honestly, Nemesis is a spot you just don’t want to miss when you’re in Vancouver. We’re already planning our next trip back!
