When you’re in Rome, finding a restaurant that perfectly blends a beautiful atmosphere with truly excellent food can feel like hitting the jackpot. We found that jackpot at Ristorante 433, a fantastic spot near the famous Piazza Navona that serves up classic Roman dishes with a delicious Mediterranean flare. This restaurant came recommended to us by a few people, so we knew we had to check it out. We made reservations, and I would definitely advise you to do the same, especially if you’re traveling during peak season. One of its best features is a magnificent outdoor patio, which is the perfect setting for one of those late summer evenings when the weather starts to cool down just a bit.

My husband and I had an absolutely incredible dinner here. We started with the bruschetta trio—which, I’ll admit, I thought I had ordered something different, but these things happen when you don’t speak the local language very well! It ended up being a wonderful surprise. The trio came with three varieties: one with grilled zucchini, one with melty mozzarella and tomatoes, and one with marinated navy beans. The zucchini was our favorite, but it was a lovely start to the dinner, and we enjoyed the variety.

For our mains, I was on a mission to try all four of the classic Roman pastas during our trip. So, when I saw Gricia with Truffles on the menu, it was a no-brainer. And who can resist fresh truffles? The pasta completely exceeded my expectations. It was chewy but still had a perfect bite, and the earthy truffles complimented the salty, savory Gricia so well. My husband went for another Roman classic: the Braised Oxtail. And oh my gosh, holy flavor! The meat was unbelievably tender, rich, and moist, falling right off the bone. It was pure comfort and indulgence.

I will say, this was definitely a pretty heavy meal overall. We were so full and satisfied that we didn’t have any room for dessert and absolutely needed a long evening walk afterward.
