Miscusi

Stepping into Miscusi in Turin, Italy, is like walking into a real Italian’s home – warm, inviting, and full of delicious food. The rustic and eclectic interior may seem mismatched at first, but it adds to the charm of this hidden gem. Every detail, from the vintage decor to the cozy atmosphere, makes you feel like you’re dining with friends and family. What sets Miscusi apart is the love and care that goes into every dish. Each meal is cooked fresh, made to order, and focuses on seasonal ingredients that showcase the best of Italy’s flavors. The menu is a masterclass in creative twists on classic Italian dishes, with each bite more delicious than the last.

Our meal at Miscusi was truly unforgettable. We started with the Trio of Bruschetta, each one offering a different flavor profile that showcased the chef’s skill and creativity. My personal favorite was the classic Burrata with tomato – simple yet sublime. The creamy Burrata paired perfectly with the fresh, juicy tomatoes, and the basil added a lovely touch of freshness.

For our mains, I opted for the Tricolore, which came with handmade paccheri pasta, fresh tomato sauce, and was topped with stracciatella, pistachio pesto, and chopped pistachios. The combination of flavors and textures was absolute perfection – the creamy stracciatella, the nutty pistachio pesto, and the crunchy chopped pistachios all worked together in harmony. My husband’s dish was equally impressive – the paccheri pasta with fresh tomato sauce, Stracciatella, and a shrimp tartare on top was a revelation. The shrimp tartare added a lovely freshness and a touch of the sea to the dish, while the stracciatella and tomato sauce provided a rich and creamy element.

Of course we couldn’t leave without dessert and what is more Italian than tiramisu? Their version was so creamy and perfect. It had a wonderful coffee flavor that wasn’t overwhelming.

What made our experience at Miscusi truly special was the ease and simplicity of it all. The service was friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was low-key and relaxed, and the food was, of course, exceptional. If you’re looking for a truly authentic Italian experience, Miscusi is a must-visit destination. With its warm atmosphere, delicious food, and commitment to using only the freshest ingredients, you’ll feel like you’re dining at a friend’s house.
