LaMucca del Carmen

When we rolled into Madrid, exhausted from our travels, we stumbled upon LaMucca del Carmen, a fantastic restaurant just steps from our hotel. We decided to grab a last-minute dinner and were glad we did. This large restaurant boasts great indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind. LaMucca is a group with multiple locations across Madrid, each with its unique setting and slightly different menu options. We’ve had the pleasure of dining at three of their locations in different neighborhoods, and each time, we’ve been impressed. If you’re planning to dine at LaMucca del Carmen, it’s worth checking if you need a reservation, although we were lucky enough to walk in for dinner.

We started with a refreshing drink, the Tinto de Verano, a signature Spanish drink made with red wine mixed with lemon-lime soda and garnished with a lemon slice. It’s lighter than sangria and perfect for warm evenings. This drink is a staple among locals, and after trying it, we understood why. For dinner, we each ordered a pizza. I opted for the Black Pizza, featuring buffalo mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and kalamata olives on an activated charcoal crust. The charcoal added a beautiful touch to the presentation without altering the flavor. My husband’s La Diavola pizza, with spicy chorizo, melty cheese, and tomatoes, was perfect for those who like a little heat.

If you’re looking for a delicious meal in a great setting, LaMucca del Carmen is a fantastic choice. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming.
