If you’re a sushi aficionado, you owe it to yourself to try Kyoshi in Madrid. This Michelin Guide restaurant is a game-changer, serving up some of the best sushi we’ve had outside of Japan. Located inside the Double Tree hotel, Kyoshi may seem like an unlikely candidate for exceptional sushi, but trust us, it’s a revelation. The quality of the fish is unmatched, and the creations are truly phenomenal. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu, which consisted of 8 courses of expertly prepared nigiri and sashimi. Each piece was a masterclass in flavor and technique, with every bite showcasing the chef’s skill and attention to detail. Each piece also brought a unique flare and flavor and no two pieces were the same. It is worth noting that the Chefs Menu changes daily based on what is freshest and what the chef feels like creating, so I loved that uniqueness to it.
But it wasn’t just the tasting menu that impressed – we also ordered the Peking Duck sushi roll, which was a unique and flavorful twist on a classic dish. The combination of tender duck, crunchy texture, and subtle spices was a highlight of the meal. In addition, we ordered a Tuna and Salmon sashimi platter, and a bowl of their Katsu ramen to try out that was also incredible.
While Kyoshi is certainly on the pricier side, this is an experience worth splurging on. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is elegant, and the food is truly exceptional. In Europe, fine dining is often found in hotels, and the standards are much higher. Kyoshi is a shining example of this, and we were blown away by the quality of the food and service.
If you’re looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, look no further than Kyoshi. The chef’s tasting menu is a must-try, and be sure to order a few extra dishes to make it a truly unforgettable meal.
