Would you ever expect to find delicious Italian cuisine in the tiny town of Trier, Germany? It probably wouldn’t be the first thing you would expect or think of.; but L’Osteria is bringing true Italian fare! The restaurant was super cozy with a modern rustic vibe to it. This spot is actually a chain with locations across Germany (and several other European countries), so even if you can’t make it to Trier, you can probably find a location wherever you are in Germany! The menu is filled with delicious dishes including pizzas, pastas, salads, and more!
Now, Europe is known for everyone ordering their own pizza, no matter how large they are and this spot was no exception. The pizzas were absolutely massive and we totally could have split one – I barely made it through 1/2 of mine. My husband did manage to take one for the team and was able to finish his whole pie and the appetizer we ordered (he really is a champ!). The pizza though was super tasty. A thin, crispy crust; fresh, flavorful tomato sauce; and lots of cheese and delicious toppings. I ordered the Prosciutto Pizza and added Burrata on top. Simple, but always good! My husband opted for a more exciting option and went with the Nduja Calabrese. This had mozzarella, spicy Nduja sausage, half-dried tomatoes, and rocket. The flavor combination here was absolutely wonderful, but defs on the spicier side! Definitely a great spot though to grab pizza and pasta.
