If you’re going to eat at one spot in Trier, this is probably the most historic. It is located in the main city center and features a large dining room as well as outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The restaurant actually also has artifacts from the Roman era on display for you to enjoy during your meal. Even with the large number of seating options, this place still fills up, especially during peak tourists months so I highly recommend trying to make a reservation ahead of time. Their menu features classic Roman and German dishes with a large wine offering as well. My husband and I actually both ended up getting the Pork Schnitzel – this was recommended to us by our waitress and it seemed the majority of the people were also enjoying it! My husband went with a classic schnitzel with no toppings; whereas I went with the paprika sauce! Both of these also came with a garden salad and a tangy vinaigrette! The schnitzel was fantastic! It was so crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. This also held its own without any sauce, the sauce just added more depth to it. The Germans definitely know how to fry some pork to make it so simple, yet so tasty. Definitely don’t miss out on this restaurant, but make a reservation and plan ahead!
