Brown’s

Okay, so this is another restaurant that is technically in Birmingham, not Coventry but I needed to put them together. I also usually go into Birmingham when I am in Coventry so to me it is kinda the same. Most people would probably go to Birmingham over Coventry since it is a much larger city. Brown’s is located right in the Birmingham City Center near the Bullring. They are an upscale spot for British fare, lavish cocktails, and a delightful afternoon tea. Like most afternoon tea spots, this must be reserved in advance, so make sure to get your reservation planned so you don’t miss out! They also only serve their Afternoon Tea from Monday-Saturday from 3-5pm for 27 pound per person. It is actually a super great deal for all of the food you get. On the tea, you’ll find an assortment of savory finger sandwiches, scones (of course) with jams and clotted cream, and an assortment of desserts (like cake, tarts, and more). Overall this was one of my favorite teas that I have had in England. The food was super fresh and delicious with bold flavors. The desserts were also divine and super moist, which can be tough to prevent items from drying out when doing so much variety. As always, the scone was phenomenal – buttery and flakey and this one came with a strawberry jam and a blackberry currant jam that was unreal! Definitely check this place out if you are in Birmingham and if you don’t snag a Tea reservation, this place is still work going to at least for a cocktail! You can find all of their information here.
