Cosy Club

Cosy Club is an upscale British restaurant with artfully curated dishes, stunning cocktails, and everything in between. They have locations across England as well so you can find them outside of Coventry! The interior of the restaurant is also stunning and grandiose. The location in Coventry is magical. You enter on the ground floor and will take the ballroom esque stairs to the dining area where you’ll find a gorgeous bar, an area with comfy chairs for lounging, and tables for a full dining experience. I was able to experience their delicious breakfast a handful of times on my trips to Coventry, but I would definitely go back for their cocktails and dinner next time!

Their menu features several classic British dishes like Full English, Bacon Butty, and Bubbles and Squeak – but the names are a bit different and they have added their own flare. I have tried: The Classic Breakfast, The Cosy Butcher’s Brunch + Halloumi, Dirty Breakfast Butty, and Bubbles and Squeak. Both the Classic Breakfast and the Cosy Butcher’s Breakfast are takes on a full English and they only differ by a few items. The Classic comes with sausage, bacon, eggs, hash browns, beans, mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, and sourdough. The Cosy Butcher’s comes with pork belly, sausage, bacon, chorizo beans, eggs, hash browns, and sourdough. Basically the Butcher’s Breakfast has more meat and less vegetables than the Classic! Both are delicious, but I prefer the Classic since it does have those mushrooms and roasted tomatoes. I also highly recommend adding a side of grilled Halloumi to the plate. The Halloumi has a wonderful saltiness but is also so creamy and delicate when you bite into it. I also know that a lot of people think it is weird to have beans with breakfast, but the English are really on to something here – the beans add a smokiness to the dish that helps balance and bring all of the components together. My favorite dish for breakfast was the Bubble & Squeak – or the play on it. So it starts with these potato patties that they fry to a golden perfection and top with perfectly poached eggs, bacon, and a side of avocado. The only thing that would have made it better would be a hollandaise sauce on top. If you want something unique though, go with the Dirty Breakfast Butty! A super buttery, soft, brioche roll is filled with bacon, sausage, a fried egg, cheddar, spinach, a hash brown and bacon jam. WOAH! It had so many flavors and textures in each bite and that bacon jam really set it off with a tang.
