Dune Brothers

Dune Brothers knows seafood and they also are big on keeping local fish local and using only the freshest, quality ingredients. They have two shack locations and one year-long restaurant. Their Providence shack was their first location and what put them on the map, so of course that is where I had to visit! Since it is a shack, there are a few tables to sit and enjoy your meal, but I want to note that it is not a full-service restaurant. You’ll order at their food truck and then wait patiently for them to call your name. If you are wanting something a little more sophisticated with full-service then check out their Fox Point location that is a full-service, sit down restaurant. The Dune Brothers have been open since 2017 and people come from all over just to try them. I also highly recommend getting there early…I got there right when they opened (or like 10 minutes after) and they already had about 15 people in line. Altogether, I waited probably 30 minutes (that includes the line and the food). The menu is also pretty simple, but highlights classic seafood dishes that are popular in New England. You’ll find clam chowder, lobster rolls, crab cakes, fish & chips, and their OG fish sandwich. Although I am a sucker for a Lobster Roll and love them lots, and eat at least one a day when I am in this part of the world; I HAD to try that OG! The OG is a crispy, potato chips crusted fish fillet that is fried to perfection. It is then topped with bread & butter pickles, Vermont cheddar, slaw, and tartar sauce. It is all things tangy, creamy, and a lil sweet from the pickles. The potato chips also add a wonderful texture and great crunch to the fish. To be honest, I am not usually a fish sandie girlie but I would eat this every day if I lived closer – it changed my perspective of how damn good a fish sandwich could be! Run, don’t walk to try them!
