Zzan

While Southern California is well known for its Mexican food, tacos, and fish; Northern California, especially San Francisco is known for its Asian cuisine! Zzan is a Korean restaurant serving fresh food in a vibrant atmosphere. This is a great spot if you’re looking for a relaxed spot with drinks and delicious food! Fun fact too, Zzan means “Cheers” in Korean! My husband and I grabbed our food to go though because we had a long day of travel and just wanted to go chill in the hotel for an early evening, but we still wanted delicious food. The menu has so many delicious dishes like cheese corn, bibimbap, army stew, beef soup, kimchi rice, and so so much more! We grabbed a bulgogi, omelette rice with spam, and pork dumplings. Everything was so flavorful and rich and travelled surprisingly well! My favorite thing was the omelette rice – this is their version of omurice, which is a runny egg omelette served over rice and usually topped with a sauce. It is a very popular dish in Japan and Korea. It is so rich and creamy and every bite is so warm and comforting. The bulgogi had a nice flavor, but it was a bit dry – this could have just been because of the traveling, but normally bulgogi almost melts in your mouth, and this one I had to chew a bit to get through which was a bit disappointing. The pork dumplings were decent, but they lacked a lil bit of something that I can’t put my finger on! If I were to go here again, I would definitely go to the restaurant and enjoy my food on the spot as I feel like it might be a bit better or at least more fun.
