This is a spot in Milan that is a favorite with the locals and tourists, but make sure to make a reservation because it gets packed! If you don’t have a reservation, you likely will not get to experience this spot. This restaurant is nostalgic, cozy, and inviting. When you step in you are excitedly greeted by smiling faces and laughter throughout the dining rooms. The tables are a bit cramped together, but that is what makes it cozy and charming. This spot also specializes in all things Milanese – so when you eat here, you are really getting a taste of the local dishes.
My husband and I were able to snag a table for our last night in Milan and we definitely indulged, leaving the restaurant so stuffed. For appetizers, we started with a Caprese, Mixed Meat Board, and a Sampler. I am always so impressed with the freshness and quality of food in Italy and this meal was no exception. The mozzarella was so creamy and the perfect amount of salted; and those tomatoes were just so juicy and light. The Sampler was also interesting with a chicken cutlet, thinly sliced pancetta, and a mayonnaise based salad. The Sampler was probably my least favorite thing, just because it lacked a little bit of flavor and everything was served cold. For my main, I ordered a freshly made pasta with mushrooms – I loved how chewy and bouncy the pasta was.
For a traditional Milanese meal, this is a restaurant you don’t want to miss, but make sure to grab a reservation. I also recommend ordering a few things to share and don’t skip their crudo plates and fresh mozzarella!
