This might be one of the HARDEST restaurants to currently get a seat at in Toronto, but if you are patient and able to snag a seat you will be rewarded with the most delicious Thai meal! If you aren’t super patient and still want to try this spot, your best bet is to go for lunch or an early dinner. I tried popping in for dinner one night and that was definitely not gonna happen as they had a 2 hour wait time, so I went back the next day right when they opened for lunch and was seated in about 15 minutes. They do have a limited number of reservations that you can book, so if you can plan ahead you may be able to snag one but just be prepared if not!
Pai’s menu is full of vibrant flavors, warm and rich thai flavors and seasonings, and authentic and modern dishes. It was so difficult to decide what to order because there were so many things I wanted to try. I ended up ordering the Garlic Chicken and the Khao Soi. The Garlic Chicken was so juicy and crispy and went so well with the sweet and spicy dipping sauce. The Khao Soi was the star of the show. It is one of my favorite dishes and Pai’s Khao Soi is absolutely stunning – so full of flavor and rich and warm. If you aren’t familiar with Khao Soi it is a rich, coconut milk curry soup topped with chewy egg noodles, crispy noodles, cilantro, green onion, pickled mustard and shallot. The flavors and texture combination of Khao Soi is magical so it makes for a phenomenal dish. If you haven’t tried it, it is a MUST!
