Love me some Korean food – it is so flavorful, unique, and has so many options. Plus who doesn’t love banchan before your actual meal? Kimchi Korea House was opened in Toronto in 2012 and all the recipes and dishes are family recipes from the owner’s life in South Korea. I found this spot just down the street from my hotel and went in for a delicious lunch. The dining room was buzzing and full of energy and vibrancy all around. You could tell everyone was excited to be there and were enjoying a tasty, comforting meal. On the menu, you will find bibimbap (which is a hot stone filled with rice and various toppings), soups and stews, bulgogi, katsu, and so much more. The main focus of their menu is the Bibimbap with sooo many varieties for all taste buds. I went for the bulgogi Bibimbap which also came with corn and topped with a fried, runny egg. If you have never had authentic Bibimbap, it is traditionally served in a super hot stone. What happens is the rice on the bottom continues to cook and will produce this super crispy rice for you to enjoy. Kimchi’s bibimbap was nothing short of excellent. It was so flavorful and the hot stone gave that rice a wonderful crispiness. This is absolutely a place you should not skip when you’re in Toronto!
