I LOVE Turkish food, but it isn’t something we have very much of in the US and definitely not in Oklahoma where I am currently based. If you have never had the pleasure of trying Turkish food, it is some of the most flavorful and delicious dishes around. The ingredients are usually simple, yet incredible together. I found this spot while walking around in need of something to eat for a late lunch. If you have ever been to Luxembourg City, you will understand the deceptive amount of walking you will endure and if you are like me, unprepared, then you will be dying and in serious need of food and water. After a morning of what felt like hiking and climbing through the city center, I was famished and needed something fairly quick and simple. When I saw this spot I knew this was exactly what I wanted. Now Turkish food can be as big of a meal or as small as you want it and while I absolutely wanted to tear in to a full platter, I still had a lot of day and eating ahead of me so I opted for Pide. If you aren’t familiar, Pide is like a Turkish Pizza, for lack of a better description. It is a super thin and crispy flatbread that is topped with various things – like a thin layer of finely minced meat, a mixture of cheese, etc. It is then usually served with some herbs and fresh vegetables and lemon for you to eat with it to give it a brightness. I of course had to try the Cheese Pide and the Minced Meat Pide. Both were incredible and hit the spot. So warm and crispy and I definitely devoured this in a matter of minutes.
