Bagel Station

If you’re from New Jersey, then you’d definitely say that NJ has the best bagels; if you’re from New York, then you’d probably laugh at them. While I am definitely more in love with New York bagels, New Jersey does have some very good bagels that are worth trying! I would warn though, don’t go in thinking you are getting NY style bagels. NJ bagels seem to be a bit denser and firmer and don’t spring back when you bite them. They are still delicious, but just a little bit different.

Bagel Station has somewhat of a cult following it seems like in NJ and they have been open since 1979; so if you’re going to get bagels from anywhere in Jersey, this is definitely the place! All of their bagels are made in house, hand rolled and kettle boiled before being sliced and filled with your favorite toppings. We grabbed two bagels – a plain bagel with scallion cream cheese and a poppyseed bagel with lox and plain cream cheese. My only complaint, is on the plain bagel I asked for extra spread because I love a THICK layer, and as you can see in the photo, there was like barely enough to coat one side of the bagel… I had to ask for a side and then some lol. The Lox bagel had a way better cream cheese to bagel ratio, as it should be. Overall, it was simple but not a bad bagel. Check them out and let me know what you think!
