The Varsity is one of the most iconic and legendary spots in Atlanta. It opened in 1928 and is still family owned and operated all these years later. It is the perfect spot for a quick burger or chili dog! This spot is definitely not to be missed and even if the line seems long, it goes so quick. When I knew I would be traveling to Atlanta, my dad told me about this spot because he used to go there when he would travel to Atlanta, so this was definitely a spot I knew I couldn’t miss.
The Varsity is similar to an old soda fountain with burgers, dogs, milkshakes and more to try! I grabbed a simple cheeseburger, a chili dog, onion rings and of course a diet coke. There was something so nostalgic about this spot and while it’s not a place I would eat regularly, it was fun to try! The burger was good, simple and plain but the meat was juicy. The chili dog was also pretty good, but the chili definitely gives off canned chili vibes – nothing bad though! The onion rings were a surprise with them being so crunchy on the outside. I loved the batter they used because it was light but still held its own.
Definitely check this spot out when you’re in Atlanta for some nostalgic, classic finds!
