This iconic spot has been all over social media and has a cult following, so when in Brooklyn, I knew I had to check it out. And DAMN, I was not disappointed. I was expecting a super long line and wait, but honestly it wasn’t that bad – partly because they keep their menu short so they can move through orders quicker and the time of year was cold, so most people weren’t trying to hang out. Their actual store is super small and cozy and only has a walk up to order and a few spots – but they have a larger, covered seating area outside that you can snag a seat and eat at! Even though their shop is tiny, the efficiency there was incredible – I loved watching everyone move around so effortlessly.

Like I mentioned above, their menu is fairly small but don’t let that scare you; more options are not always better. They focus primarily on their pizza slices and offer 6-10 different choices on a given day. They also have a few other items but these are typically lower quantity and rotate so there is no guarantee on getting to try them! The most famous slice is the Burrata – it is a take on the classic margherita but they swap the mozzarella with large chunks of fresh burrata.

If your mouth isn’t watering now, it should be and you should also be contemplating that trip to NYC – you better believe I would go back just for this pizza. Since I knew I likely wouldn’t make it back to this spot on the trip and didn’t know when I would be back to NYC, I definitely over ordered…but like c’mon, ya gotta try it all! I grabbed 3 slices – Burrata, Pepperoni, Parma – and then was able to order their special sandwich which was a chicken parm sando. I was so excited when my order was ready and that first bite – Holy Hell – this is the epitome of pizza and I don’t think I will ever eat anything as delicious. The creamy Burrata was the perfect addition; their sauce was so fresh and light; and the pizza crust – thin and crispy but still a chewy bite to it and perfectly charred spots throughout the crust. now THIS is what dreams are made of. The pizza was simple but so flavorful – I loved how you can taste the freshness of their ingredients and they don’t overdo it just to say they can. Now to the sandwich….this was also phenomenal but definitely heavier. The sandwich comes on a toasted ciabatta and is filled with their fresh, light tomato sauce, crispy breaded chicken cutlets, melted mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. It was a lot but like a good a lot. All of the flavors and textures paired so perfectly together for an outrageous sandwich – and since it was cold out and the sandwich was hot, it warmed me right up.

Make your way to Brooklyn and don’t miss this iconic pizza shop with arguably the best pizza in the area! Check out their site here; you can also order whole pies online but slices are in store only!
