Black Seed

NYC = BAGELS, right? If ya don’t live in NYC, it is common to hear that NYC has the best bagels in the world. Some say it is because of the water there that just makes the bagels so much better. Who knows what the reason is, but I definitely agree that bagels outside of NYC just don’t hit as hard. NYC bagels have a chewy interior and a delightful texture on the outside – they are indescribable and just so dang good. While in NYC, ofc I had to eat bagels every day or else like what am I doing with my life. While my intentions were to try a few different bagel spots, I immediately got hooked on Black Seed. I know there are some iconic and incredible bagel spots around NYC, but in Brooklyn (which is where I was staying), Black Seed reigns supreme in my book! Their bagels are wood fired and always fresh with a variety of flavors. They also have delicious cream cheese options, breakfast sandwiches, classic sandwiches, and more!

Like I mentioned above, I wanted to try more shops but my first morning at Black Seed hooked me immediately and it became my morning spot for the few days I was there. I would grab a different bagel each morning so I could at least try some different combinations. The Poppyseed and Everything bagels were my fav and the scallion cream cheese was unbelievable (I am a sucker for green onions so this was my jam!). I also tried the Turkey, Egg & Cheese and it was warm and heavenly BUT, for me the cream cheese just slapped so hard. Somehow their cream cheese was like a pillow – so soft and creamy and smooth and rich – unlike any creamy cheese I have ever had. And with their soft, chewy bagels – like I cannot with how good it was!
