Trier is a small town in the South-West part of Germany that borders Luxembourg (in fact it is only about a 30ish minute drive into Luxembourg City). While Trier is small, they have the cutest, most picturesque town with old architecture with lots of charm and character. The city center is super walkable and they surprisingly have a lot of bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants and more! This town also has a lot of history and was founded by the Romans and is considered Germany’s first (and oldest) city. You can actually still see several Roman structures like the Porta Nigra and the Roman Baths. If you’re visiting Trier and looking for some spots to eat – check out these restaurants below that I enjoyed on our trip.
